Minister of Information and Technology KT Rama Rao and Suryapet Collector were lauded on Twitter for standing by their word and constructing a house within five months for a resident of Suryapet.
Ashok, a resident of Suryapet, had featured in a regional newspaper in March for constructing a toilet despite living in a hut. This news was noticed by the Minister who immediately instructed the District Collector to ensure Ashok is provided with a 2 bhk house.
Taking his instructions seriously, the Collector, K Surendra Mohan, ensured that the hut was replaced with a permanent building within five months.
Speaking to TNM, Suryapet District Collector said, “We are striving to provide welfare to the people and being recognised for it feels good.”
The Collector was earlier appreciated by KTR for setting up a hair salon with a government grant of Rs 1 lakh for a mute person.
Appreciating the Collector for his swift action, KTR said that the Collector did a good job.
Remember Ashok, the guy who’d built a toilet though he was living in a Hut? As promised, his 2BHK house is now done
