The Punjagutta police in Hyderabad have registered a case of 'cheating' against a real estate businessman based on a complaint by Tollywood actor Akkineni Nagarjuna's sister Susheela.
Susheela is also the daughter of legendary film actor Akkineni Nageswara Rao.
In her complaint, Susheela accused her business partner of diverting their company's money into his own account, without her knowledge or consent.
The Times of India reported that Susheela sold her personal properties in Andhra Pradesh and started a realty business with Srinivas Rao under the name of 'SR Properties', through which they bought and sold land.
Stating that Srinivas Rao allegedly opened another bank account in the name of SR Promoters to divert the money, the TOI report adds that the police booked him under Sections 406 (criminal breach of trust) and 420 (cheating) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
According to reports, Susheela also alleged that Srinivas sold a land in Shankerpally without her knowledge and misused the money of their company.
Srinivas had also reportedly produced a few Telugu films starring Sushanth, Susheela's son.
Meanwhile, Srinivas denied the allegations in a statement to the media and said he had taken only money that was due to him from the company, adding that there was already a civil case in the court in this regard, Telangana Today reported.
Though Susheela is ANR’s daughter, she has stayed away from the limelight.
In 2014, she made the news, when she slammed personalities from the Telugu film industry, at a condolence meet held for ANR at the Andhra Pradesh Film Chamber of Commerce.
“Everybody is praising him now, but when my father received the Padma Vibhushan, the film industry did not react and did not even felicitate him,” Susheela said at the time, during an emotional speech.
