The Congress chief had pointed out that an old couple living in a hut in Komaram Bheem Asifabad had been asked to pay Rs 500 as property tax.
In an incident that reflected bipartisanship, an elderly couple in Telangana received help after the state Congress chief Uttam Kumar Reddy brought their problem to the notice of state Municipal Minister KT Rama Rao. “This aged couple living in a hut from Komaram Bheem Asifabad District has been asked to cough up Rs 500 property tax. Local officials’ apathy is sickening. Appeal to Telangana Chief Minister and KTR to refund the tax paid and rehabilitate the couple in a double bedroom house immediately,” Uttam Kumar tweeted on Tuesday.
