After a brief lull, heavy rain lashed parts of Hyderabad city on Thursday, resulting in water logging and traffic jams.
According to media reports, Attapur, Gachibowli, Hitec city, Madhapur, Punjagutta and some parts of Secunderabad witnessed showers, with the average rainfall being recorded at 4.7 mm upto 7:30 pm.

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) said that it immediately its monsoon emergency squads.
However, the rains brought down the temperature in the city. Many users also took to social media.

Meanwhile, the Hyderabad office of the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) had said that Telangana would continue to receive light to moderate rain or thundershowers.
Last month, pointing out that most of the roads in the city were being damaged due to rainfall, Hyderabad Mayor Dr B Rammohan directed the Engineering Wing of the GHMC to take up the works pertaining to potholes immediately by deploying additional labour and teams wherever necessary.
The Mayor stated that though recarpeting of roads had been taken up before the monsoon, the roads were getting damaged due to continuous rains, which has inconvenienced a lot of citizens.
Rammohan pointed out that the GHMC only had one BT Hot Mix Plant at Chudi Bazar and carrying the material to different parts of the city was causing delay, following which it was decided to set up temporary BT Hot Mix plants in areas across the city.
In June, stating that it has deployed teams ready to tackle waterlogging, inundation and other problems that low-lying areas could face this monsoon, the GHMC had also said that several enforcement drives were conducted to remove encroachments on drains.
The GHMC has also deployed teams with all necessary equipment for road repairs and for dewatering low-lying areas with pump sets if there is waterlogging.
